Possibilities of evaluation durability of the surface layer of concrete structures
Blažek, Michal ; Žalud, Oldřich (referee) ; Vymazal, Tomáš (advisor)
The thesis is focused on possibilities of durability evaluation of surface layer of concrete structures. The durability of concrete surface layer usually determines the durability of the structure as a unit. It has to be determined in what environment the structure is situated and what influences it has to face, to set the durability of the structure. There is a several normative prescription to set the resistance of the structure. There is formulated a summary of the most widely used and known prescriptions in the theoretical part of the thesis. It is a lot of effort to estimate the durability of the concrete by estimation of permeability of the concrete surface layer recently. Thus these methods are also formulated in the summary and there are compared the individual outputs of the tests. The permeability and pore structures of the concrete surface layer are crucial parameters for the durability of concrete structure. These parameters influence the construction properties of the concrete as well, thus the thesis is focused on relationship of the pore structure and the strength in press of the concrete.

Lipoldová, Marie ; Prokeš,, Jan (referee) ; Bodnárová, Lenka (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the study of bent FRP reinforcements with the main focus on the methods of production of bent FRP reinforcement, examples of their application in structures. The work also mentions the effects of aggressive environments on the durability of FRP. In the practical part, a search of the possibilities of testing the properties of bent FRP reinforcement. Subsequently, an experiment is designed and performed to monitor changes in the properties of straight and bent FRP reinforcement exposed to the alkaline environment and water at 20 °C and 40 °C. Finally, the evaluation of changes in mechanical properties and observation of reinforcements using optical and scanning electron microscopy is performed.
Monitoring the influence of concrete composition on abrasion resistance
Černá, Hana ; Novosad, Petr (referee) ; Bodnárová, Lenka (advisor)
This diploma thesis focuses on the resistance of concrete to abrasion with regard to the raw materials used for their production. In the theoretical part of the thesis are described admixtures, different types of aggregate and aggregate composition which influence the resistance of concrete to abrasion. In the experimental part, 15 different C30 / 37, S4 concrete formulations were proposed. Different types of aggregates - fecal gravel (Žabčice), biotic granodiorite (Olbramovice) and amphibolite (Želešice) have always been used in the recipes. Fine ground limestone, micro-silica, high-temperature fly ash and finely ground slag were ingredients that were added to the proposed recipes. Consistency was determined by the method of cone seating and the density of fresh concrete. In the hardened state, concrete density, compressive strength, bending tensile strength, tensile strength, watertightness, concrete absorption, and abrasion resistance were determined using the Böhm method and wide wheel method. The test specimens were tested after 7, 28, and 90 days of maturation.

Čada, Pavel ; Ing. Miroslav. Brodňan, Ph.D. (referee) ; Chobola, Zdeněk (referee) ; Švehla,, Vladimír (referee) ; Vaněrek, Jan (advisor)
In this thesis the corrosion resistance of two types of steel materials were evaluated, Corten A as a representative of WS (weathering steel) and the corrosion resistance of anti-corrosion protection formed by the zinc coating. The different kinetics of corrosive processes was found during the NSS test. WS steel exposed to 400 hours of NSS laboratory test showed growth of the corrosion rate, however, after this period of time there has been a significant decline in this rate. Conversely, when using Zn as anodic protection, the corrosion losses decrease linear up to 300 hours of exposure, but after this time there was a relatively significant linear increase in corrosion rate. During measurements on existing VHV pylons they were measured corrosion decreases of steel and Zn anti-corrosion protection. Normal corrosion rate for weathering steel with 10 m.a-1 and for Zn corrosion loss 1.8 m.a-1 were found. Technical and economic assessment were evaluated using variant of new poles with Zn surface layer and revitalization of existing pylons from WS steel. With regard to all aspects obtained from laboratory tests and economic assessments, friendlier version of revitalization of existing VHV pylons from WS steel using a sufficient corrosion resistance of these steels were found out.
